Mood Board
Idea mood board
This is a mood board that i have started to create, over the time of our production i will add to this mood board including our location ideas for each section, and then add a post on mise en scene, actors i plan on including into our opening sequence, and costume. So it is a clear visual aid of what i plan to include. By adding to this it helps me portray my ideas and help to link them all together.
Initial Idea
Initial Ideas Story Board
We Spent our lesson discussing idea's for our opening sequence. We like the idea of doing a psychological thriller as it gives us the opportunity to use a variety of camera shots effectively. This is a basic flow chart of the storyline for our first idea:Thursday, 30 January 2014
Genre Conventions
Here i have put together some research i have done on different conventions for each genre, i have done this so i have a better understanding on each one individually before me and my group come to a conclusion on what genre we want our opening sequence to be.

What i Learnt
What I learnt
Within this clip of my preliminary task demonstrated within the task my own understanding of camera rules; rule of thirds, match on action editing, reverse reverse shot and the film followed the 180 degree rule.
Rule of Thirds: compostion rule of thumb in photography
Match on action editing: Coming closer to a certain object say a door. So you watch the hand go towards the door and then closely it matches the hand on the door so you watch the person go through.
Reverse reverse shot: I learnt how to do have a conversation between two people without making the conversation look fake and unrealistic. So therefore a reverse reverse shot shows one character and the answer from the other character.
180 degree rule: Finally I learnt that it is important to show the whole 180 degrees of the room or location you are filming within because otherwise the film would be confusing for viewers and unbelieveable.

Music
i have found some examples of eerie songs which i like and would consider using when making my opening sequence. I think that it is important to add in music because it is a method of building up suspense before the thriller film begins.
